Rising Medical Solutions, Inc. (Rising), a leading medical cost containment and care management organization, announces that the Company will provide Medical Data Call services for its clients who are required to submit medical transaction data to the National Council on Compensation Insurance, Inc. (NCCI).

The Medical Data Call will go into effect for all workers’ compensation claims, including medical-only claims, occurring in the applicable states during the third quarter of 2010 and will be due to NCCI by December 31, 2001. This reporting will be mandatory for eligible participants in 36 states.

With the continuing and dramatic escalation of medical costs facing workers’ compensation stakeholders, many state regulators and legislators looked for NCCI to provide analysis and pricing of their medical cost containment solutions. NCCI recognized that more detailed medical data was needed to effectively measure the impact of future workers’ compensation regulations and thus worked with its member states to implement the NCCI Medical Data Call.

To assist workers’ compensation Payers in meeting the NCCI mandate, Rising is offering an outsourced solution to those clients who utilize the Company’s Medical Bill Review services. Currently, Rising gathers a majority of the required NCCI data through its present operations and electronic integrations with clients. The Company is now implementing processes to gather any outstanding data fields so that adherence to NCCI’s Medical Data Call is achieved with minimal impact on Rising client operations and IT resources.
