CIGNA Joins Effort to Support Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Build in Connecticut
The ABC-TV Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’s rebuilding of a home for a Suffield, Conn. family will bring community members together from across the state, united in the goal to help a family in need. Joining this effort is local health service company CIGNA, which will send volunteer employees for worksite cleanup on Monday, June 29, along with offering other support.
The family, William and Catherine Hill, along with their family of 11, including sons, daughters, nieces and nephews, will have their fire-damaged three-bedroom ranch home transformed into a six-bedroom 5,500-plus square-foot home in just one week by ABC’s Ty Pennington, lead builder Kent Pecoy of Pecoy Signature Homes in Avon and West Springfield, Mass. and an army of volunteers.
“CIGNA is all about helping people improve their health, well-being and sense of security — and that begins at home,” said Gianna Jackson, CIGNA’s executive director of civic affairs. “CIGNA and its employees give their time, energy and resources to help improve our local communities and we’re delighted to lend a hand to Extreme Makeover’s efforts to help the Hill family. Like the rest of America, we look forward to seeing the Hills’ reactions to their new home, and wish them all the best.”
